Dodge the Arrow
Dodge the Arrow is our annual fall philanthropy event. It is a dodgeball tournament held on campus where teams compete and raffles donated, with 100% of the proceeds going toward Pi Phi's national reading initiative.
Pie a Pi Phi
Pie a Pi Phi is an annual spring philanthropy event during which students and faculty pay to pie a sister in the face with whipped cream. Raffles are donated and tickets are sold, and it is always a fun-filled event that supports literacy.
Champions Are Readers
Champions Are Readers is an international Pi Beta Phi philanthropy project where we partner up with a local underpriveleged elementary school, and sisters go once a week for a month to sit down individually or with small groups of children and answer their questions about grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. The classrooms we partner with are donated books at the students' reading by the chapter level to ensure their literacy journey can continue at home. While every philanthropy event Alabama Alpha participates in is a huge step toward the crisis of illiteracy, Champions Are Readers is our favorite. We love to meet the children, and see their passion for reading grow in and outside the classroom.
